Gracie Ofslager

Thus far, I have tried to track down James Farmer’s memorandum to A.J. Muste, with no success. However, the publisher of Lay Bare the Heart did not seem to care about posting the memorandum on the website becaue it did not know anything about the copyrights. I found the Muste Papers at Swarthmore College, where there are also correspondances with James Farmer; however, I would have to visit the college to view them. There is a remnant of FOR which mainly deals with Latin American rights at the moment. I contacted them and they never responded. I have also outlined my main points in the letter I will mail to my representatives for creating a James Farmer state holiday.

Good thing they didn’t know about copyrights. You’ve obviously put a lot of time into your project. The holiday thing is especially cool.
