Betsy Hudson’s Research Page
Sep 27th, 2007 by Betsy Hudson
My research topic involves James Farmer’s fellow professors at UMW. I am going to attempt to contact those of his colleagues and question them about their relationships with him. I plan to find out which professors taught while Farmer did (through dates of tenure at UMW) and send a group email to all of them with a questionare. I would like to know what he was like as a peer/friend rather than from the viewpoint of his students/followers. I would like to find information about Farmer through their conversations and interactions. What were Farmer’s opinions on the issues around him (such as campus life)? Did he participate in school events or was he more reserved? Was there an apparent bitterness in his manner from a lack of recognition? These are some of the questions to which I’d like to discover answers.

This sounds like a very interesting project. I really like the idea of the questionnaire. This definitely seems to be a promising research project.
That is such a cute picture of him.
The peer/friend viewpoint rather than the students/followers is very interesting.
